CPGCE TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS:

Q1:  CAN I DELIVER A TECHNICAL PRESENTATION AT THE CPGCE?
A1.   Yes, members and guests are welcome to give a technical presentation.

Q2:  WHAT SHOULD BE THE TOPIC OF PRESENTATION ?
A2:   any topic of interest to members of the four sponsoring institutions of cpgce, or any subject of general interest, project management, etc.,

Q3.  WHAT SHOULD THE SPEAKER BRING TO THE PRESENTATION ?
A3.   The speakers bring their own computer and projector to deliver their presentation. However, the projection screen is arranged by the CPGCE.

Q4.  IF SPEAKERS CAN NOT BRING THEIR OWN PROJECTOR, CAN CPGCE ARRANGE ONE ?
A4.  Yes, CPGCE can arrange a projector under special circumstances.

Q5.  SHOULD SPOUSES AND GUESTS BE EXPECTED TO PAY TO ATTEND CPGCE TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS ?
A5.  Yes, members of the Sponsoring Institutes are admitted free (please bring your Institute Membership card), but there is a nominal fee of $5 for guests, spouses and non-members of the Sponsoring Institutes.

Q6.  AS A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER, CAN I COUNT CPD POINTS FOR ATTENDING PRESENTATIONS ?
A6.  Yes, you may count 2 points towards your CPD credits.

Q7.  WHEN DO YOU CONDUCT CPGCE TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS ?
A7.  We have 8 technical presentations in a year, usually scheduled on the second Wednesday in February, March, April, May, June, September, October, and November.

Q8.  WHICH MONTHS ARE REST PERIODS FOR TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS ?
A8.  We do not have technical presentations in January, July, August and December

Q9.  CAN I PASS ON CPGCE TECHNICAL NOTICE TO MY COLLEAGUES ?
A9.  Yes, please circulate the notice to your colleagues. Guests are welcome attend.

Q10.  ANY POINTERS FOR FIRST TIME ATTENDEES ?
A10.  Some useful pointers:
a.    There is plenty of on-street parking near the Danish Canadian Club.
b.    The Club entrance is on the West side of the building.
c.    Check notice board inside for direction to the CPGCE Presentation.
d.    Attendees observe the usual etiquette of "no cell phones" during the presentation.
e.    There will be a light snack at the end of the presentation.

Q11.  WHERE CAN I FIND DETAILS OF CPGCE SOCIAL EVENTS ?
A11.  The notice of social events will be e-mailed to members well in advance. Please check www.cpgce.org for calendar of events.

Q12.  SHOULD MEMBERS, THEIR SPOUSES AND GUESTS EXPECT TO PAY FOR SOCIAL EVENTS ?
A12.  Yes, members and their guests attend social events at their own expense and have to pay for entrance fee or tickets if any.

Q13.  WHAT WERE SOME OF THE PAST SOCIAL EVENTS ?
A13.  Typical past social events: pot luck parties, half a day trip to bird sanctuary, national parks, visit to theatres and performances.

Q14.  CAN MEMBERS PROPOSE SOCIAL EVENTS ?
A14.  Yes, members can suggest events which can be published in our web page for wider audience. Please contact the coordinator of social events.
