Abstract
Kilauea in Hawaii is one of the most active volcanoes of the world and is currently erupting. The talk will explore the complex lava plumbing system of Kilauea as manifested through recent eruptions and the volcano monitoring over a century by the United States Geological Survey. The talk will also explore the unique evolution of Hawaiian volcanoes.

Dr. Rajev Nair, Ph.D.
Dr. Rajeev Nair is a geologist and a Professor in the Department of Earth, Energy, and Environment at University of Calgary. His expertise is in the origin and evolution of rocks, primarily those that form at high temperatures from magmas and deeper in the Earth. He uses the chemistry of rocks to understand the processes that form them.
