Agenda

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at the Veranda at the Stables (2566 Flanders Ave SW #200). The AGM will cover the overall operation of CPGCE and is an opportunity for members to provide input, volunteer for roles within the executive committee, and to help further the cause of CPGCE and our sponsoring institutions. We will also have a technical talk, a dinner, and a fun quiz based on the technical talk.

  • 6:30 pm – AGM
  • 7 pm – Buffet dinner
  • 8 pm – Technical presentation
  • 9 pm – Quiz with prizes!

Presentation Abstract

Arun will present on his recent hike on the Camino de Santiago, covering a distance of 925 km from Saint Jean Pied de Port in France to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, and further to Muxia and Fisterra on the Atlantic coast of Northern Spain. The presentation will focus on the preparations and considerations necessary for such a long journey, and breathtaking pictures of the hike will feature throughout!

Presenter Bio

Arun Kumar, M.Sc., P.Eng.

Arun is a Professional Engineer with over 30 years of experience and a strong background in the oil & gas sector. Having managed projects all over the world, Arun is now a member of the Canadian Standards Association and has been an active volunteer with multiple groups, including CPGCE. Arun holds an undergraduate degree from Bangalore University and masters degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology and the University of Strathclyde, and is a P.Eng with APEGA as well as a lifetime member of the American Welding Society.
