Abstract
Brooks Aqueduct and the Greenhill Mine Tipple building are both reinforced concrete structures built over 100 years ago. As both are historic sites, there is a desire to conserve them while they suffer from similar problems. These have developed despite very different owners and construction standards. The similarities and differences will be discussed against current knowledge. Focus will then shift to some masonry buildings in Calgary and the problems with their conservation.
