Abstract
COVID-19 has broadly changed our day-to-day lives and has brought microbiology front and centre in everyday conversation. From RT-qPCR to variants to mRNA vaccines to wastewater-based epidemiology, these strange words from the realm of science have become mainstream parts of our daily lexicon. This talk will discuss the current field of COVID-19 diagnostics and explore the burgeoning use of wastewater-based epidemiology to aid in public health decision making.
