Technical Webinar: The Preservation of the Prince of Wales Fort

Abstract The Prince of Wales fort is the largest fort ever built by a private company (the Hudson’s Bay Company): it lies at the mouth of the Churchill river opposite Churchill, Manitoba. Constructed in the 1700’s, the fort is now a National Historic Site. Parts of the walls have bowed and collapsed in some places so conservation measures have been undertaken to restore the structure. The history of the fort will be reviewed briefly, the problems described and conservation possibilities
